Artist's Comments

A teaser/collage like poster homage I did for this little old horror movie entitled "Carnival of Souls." Kinda like the Night of the Living Dead movie poster.

The poster that this movie does have is ugly in my opinion. I took a bunch of screen captures of the movie and pasted them together using photoshop.

I saw this movie a very long time ago, and it was just the ending, but it had engrossed me that much I had to see it all. From 1962, it revolves around Ms. Mary Henry. She happens to be the only survivor of a car crash off a bridge but her life doesn't seem the same. She starts seeing these 'ghouls' and there are times where she just.. uh... has black outs of reality? I think that's a way to put it.

Past I certain hour I can stand to see images of it, because that main ghoul's look gives me chills.

I plan to do Dementia 13 next.

It came out really well, very dramatic, nice. What is up with the bottom right corner though? Kinda blue. Anyway, nice!

It's the scan job. I uped the contrast to make the black areas BLACK. Unfortunately, it makes some areas blue too.

Thanks for the compliment!

oh god, that movie was hilarious. :XD: just so many things about it, like the way-too-rapid soundtrack for footsteps, or the way she played the organ by basically swirling her hands around. :giggle: classic.

anyway, this has nice composition to it. very fitting to the theme, and you included all the perfect scenes.

Hahahaha! I loaned this movie to a friend because I felt it's a must see movie, and she noticed those things too. It's a shame how that's so distracting sometimes. I loved it anyways. Thanks!

^^ I've watch this one this year (I wasn't born when it was released) A little slow compared with other horror movies, but a great plot (a well done remake of this one will be great)

Great composition on this poster, and you are right it's better than the real one

It is slow.... but it's just so eerie. The music and the atmosphere, not to mention the faces Candace can make. Wes Craven (I think it was him) did a remake in the 90's? I don't remember when, but I've read it's a BAD movie, and it doesn't even resemble the original. And I think I saw a bit of it on TV late one night. I wasn't impressed.

But I love it. Those 'zombies' can really get to me sometimes. Especially when they run towards the screen. haha.

Criterion has done a nice special edition of this on dvd. I really want it, but it's not cheap.

I never saw the remake (I'll watch it to judge it), it's a shame that it wasn't that appealing as I spected. I still believe that the plot of this movie has potential for a good remake (and yes, those zombies were great, but I would prefer a better make up).
